Daniel Mar Chong, performance training and injury prevention specialist, will lead the Mar Athletic Performance Enhancement Camp for students 14 years and older June 13-15 at Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Nakamaru Fitness Center.

Students can choose from one of two camp times: 1 to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 to 4 p.m. The camp fee is $100 and space is limited to the first 20 athletes.

The camp will cover the fundamentals of a progressive strength training technique. Mar Chong is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), and graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a master’s in kinesiology and athletic administration. He breaks away from traditional strength training and introduces new performance enhancement training techniques. At the conclusion of every workout there will be a 10-15 minute presentation on hydration, nutrition, and supplements by Scott Oshiro, Certified Athletic Trainer for Hawaii Preparatory Academy. Small group instruction ensures each student receives the best instruction possible. Athletes must be ready to be challenged physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Mar Chong’s former clients include Hawaii state players of the year in football, baseball, and volleyball; Hawaii All-State players in baseball, football, softball, swimming, track & field, and volleyball; NCAA Division I athletes in baseball, football, golf, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Mar Chong holds certifications with: National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and American Heart Association—Basic Life Support (BLS).
